Environmental consciousness

 During a period of a little over three years Taxi Stockholm has decreased our emission of Co2 with over 50 %, counted on passengerkilometre. In our goals, decided two years ago, the demand was to lower the emission with 40 % by the end of year 2012. Taxi Stockholm´s board has decided that in the year 2012, when our fleet almost only consists of environmentally friendly cars, our Co2 emisson should have decreased with 70 %.

 An average emission from Taxi Stockholm´s cars is 104 grams Co2 per passengerkilometre. This is to be compared with the emissions of private cars that had an average emission of 190 grams Co2 per passengerkilometre during november 2008.

 A number of activities has begun and each week new environmentally friendly cars are additioned. From 2009 we only allow environmentally friendly cars and already over 60 % of our cars are clean.

 An external auditor controls that these cars are driven on environmentally friendly fuel 80 % of the distance. Besides clean cars we make efforts to decrease the diesel consumption by using taxi cars with smaller engines.

 From 2009-03-31 we stopped the use of dubbed tires. Today 75 % of our cars has friction tires and soon all of our cars are using these. Other steps are to work with HA-oilfree tires and only use clean workshops and an efficient traffic control from our call centre.

Our vision says that Taxi Stockholm is to keep a good reputation. This also demands that we take our responsability for the environment.
